Nude Golf Worldwide: The Definitive Guide to Playing Golf Naked

Of all the sports naturism has adopted, golf is the most natural fit: it is played on private land, in sunshine, at walking pace, among people who already pay for the privilege of the grounds. Legally, nude golf works almost anywhere an owner consents – a golf course is private property, and a clothes-free round behind locked gates breaches no law in most Western jurisdictions. But the world owns exactly one place built for it. This is the complete guide to playing golf naked, from the only dedicated naturist course on Earth to the resort chip-and-putts, disc golf booms, and textile-course takeovers that make up the rest of the map.

La Jenny: The World’s Only Naturist Golf Course

Inside the Domaine Résidentiel Naturiste La Jenny at Le Porge on France’s Atlantic coast – a 700-villa pine-forest resort founded in 1983, covered in our France guide – sits the sport’s holy ground. The course, built in 1993 and renovated in 2009, is a six-hole technical layout of three par threes (70 to 130 meters) and three par fours up to 300 meters: par 20 across 1,021 meters of Landes pine and dune. Nudity is compulsory on the course, driving range and putting greens whenever weather permits, with rain gear allowed only in genuinely bad conditions. The supporting infrastructure is genuine golf: a 22-bay driving range, pitching green, practice bunker, club rental and instruction from a resident PGA professional, all managed by the resident Association du Golf de La Jenny. Green fees run about €32 for a day or €94 for a high-season week, with discounts through the LeClub network – and course access is reserved for resort guests and property owners, so a round means staying in the forest. In April 2021 the course achieved something no naturist sports facility had before: official affiliation with the Fédération Française de Golf, the first and only naturist golf club recognized by a national governing body. The requirements are the same as anywhere in France – an FFGolf license or a World Handicap System index, golf shoes, and a towel.

The 2026 World Naturist Golf Championship

The sport now has its summit: the first World Naturist Golf Championship was staged at La Jenny on June 13-14, 2026, in partnership with FFGolf and the Fédération Française de Naturisme, drawing roughly ninety-six amateur golfers from Europe and North America for two days of scramble and strokeplay at €140 per player. Alongside it the resort runs the annual Trophée La Jenny, weekly summer club competitions, and regional FFN golf days – the nuclei of a genuine naturist golf circuit.

The Rest of the Map

The United States runs on resort courses: Lake Como (Florida) maintains a nine-hole chip-and-putt with an open-air driving range; Sunny Sands has a nine-hole par-three executive layout; Cypress Cove adds pitch-and-putt, mini-golf and disc golf; Solair (Connecticut) and Serendipity (Georgia) keep member-maintained short courses, and AANR regions hire local nine- and eighteen-hole textile courses for closed-door shotgun tournaments. Britain contributes the club-outing model: British Naturism’s regional pitch-and-putt days, after-hours takeovers of indoor crazy-golf venues like Dunfermline’s Adventure Golf Island, and naked golf-simulator evenings at commercial centers. Australia holds the most documented public-course case: the Wandering Bears’ Nude Golf Day at Humpty Doo Golf Club near Darwin, a working textile course that closes to the public for a clothes-free round that has drawn coverage from CNN and Golf Digest. New Zealand’s clubs add mini-golf, putting greens and rally-day outings.

Disc golf deserves its own line: it is the fastest-growing clothes-free fairway sport in North America, with dedicated courses at Glen Eden (California, weekly tournaments), Mountaindale (Oregon, SportsFest weekend), Sunsport Gardens’ eighteen baskets through Florida palm trails, Cedar Trails in Ohio, Pine Tree in Maryland and Bare Oaks in Ontario. And mini-golf is quietly everywhere in the naturist world, from Cap d’Agde’s village complex to Vera Playa’s resort hotels – the most accessible nude golf on the planet.

Myth Check

Two popular claims don’t survive verification. There is no official “World Naked Golf Day” on any international calendar – unlike World Naked Gardening Day (first Saturday of May), the phrase is only used by media to describe one-off tournaments. And no public driving range offers clothing-optional hours: clothes-free range practice exists only inside gated naturist resorts or through whole-facility private hires, because standalone ranges can’t legally screen themselves from the public road.

Golf kit on a bench

Playing Well, Naked

The practicalities are real. Sun protection is the first discipline: broad-spectrum SPF 30 to 50+ on the areas that never see office light, applied twenty minutes before tee time and reapplied every ninety; a brimmed hat and sunglasses are standard kit. Anti-chafing balm handles inner thighs over a full round. The no-pockets problem is solved with clip-on pouches and bag-mounted storage. Soft spikes and socks are mandatory at La Jenny – barefoot golf among pine needles and bees is a self-correcting error – and the towel rule applies to cart seats and clubhouse benches. The Landes rough carries ticks, so repellent on the ankles, a post-round tick check, and the discipline of taking a penalty drop rather than wading nude into deep brush. The reward, as the resort’s teaching pros point out, is what they call the purest swing: no collar restricting the shoulder turn, no waistband on the hips, full awareness of posture through the plane.
